Insecticide resistance research

Research into insecticide resistance is continuing this season under a GRDC-funded project led by cesar. The project aims to understand the insecticide resistance status in key pests Australia-wide, to provide early warning for the grains industry and develop strategies to help manage resistance issues. Growers and agronomists who experience any control failures in crop mites or aphids this season are encouraged to contact Dr Annette Anderson (cesar) on (03) 93494723 or via email at If necessary, testing of populations for resistance can be arranged and assistance provided with recommendations for control. All information will be kept confidential.

Additionally, Annette is seeking field populations of corn aphid, oat aphid and cowpea aphid for resistance testing and would appreciate hearing of any sightings.
