Each year, The Australian publishes a comprehensive list of Australia’s leading researchers, compiled using advanced data analytics to assess publicly available information about researchers and their work across 250 fields within eight disciplines. His inclusion reflects his significant and ongoing efforts to develop innovative strategies that help farmers and industry professionals manage agricultural pests, while balancing profitability and environmental sustainability.
Assoc. Prof. Umina is a co-founder and director of Cesar Australia, as well as a Melbourne Enterprise Fellow at the University of Melbourne. With more than two decades of research experience, he has played a pivotal role in advancing agricultural pest management in Australia.
