Leo McGrane
Research & Extension Scientist
Bachelor of Agricultural Science with Honours
Leo works across the research and extension teams at Cesar. When he’s not in the lab culturing and maintaining insect populations, he’s creating engaging extension materials and editing informative videos to support growers in adopting pest management best practices.
Leo grew up on a dairy farm in Ireland, which sparked his interest in improving sustainability in agriculture and ultimately led him to pursue tertiary education in agri-environmental science.
After graduating, Leo worked as an agronomist in Ireland, advising livestock farmers on best management practices for maximising their production while minimising their environmental impact. In 2019 Leo moved to Australia and began working at Cesar.
Outside of work Leo likes to spend his time working on his own video projects, polishing his photography skills, and getting out into the countryside as much as possible.
