Bachelor Agricultural Science; Grad.Dip. Journalism
Pru Cook is an agricultural extension specialist with a strong background in strategy, extension, facilitation, community and grower engagement, and adoption-focused project design and delivery across rural and agricultural communities. Alongside her part-time role at Cesar, she is also the Founder and Principal of Nine Creeks Consulting, a rural consultancy based in the Wimmera. Pru works with a diverse range of stakeholders, from community groups to corporates, supporting organisations to better understand how to enable effective change within rural and farming communities.
At Cesar, Pru supports projects through an extension and adoption lens, helping ensure research outputs are practical, relevant, and meaningful for farmers and agronomists. She is particularly interested in how behavioural science, trust, risk perception, and local context influence adoption in agriculture.
Pru is Deputy Chair of the GRDC Southern Regional Panel and sits on a number of agricultural business and family farm boards. She is passionate about strengthening connections between research, industry, and farming communities and values practical, grounded approaches that reflect the realities of rural life.
Outside work, Pru enjoys spending time with her daughter, paddle boarding on the Wimmera River, roller skating, and agility with Trev the dog.
