Armyworm in grass pastures

12 Dec 2017

Unusually high levels of armyworm activity and damage has been reported in dairy pastures in the South West and Gippsland regions of Victoria, and in Tasmania. Damage has been reported in perennial and annual grass pastures, with some paddocks incurring significant and rapid loss of vegetation.

In response, the cesar team have partnered with Dairy Australia to develop an information sheet for affected farmers. This document, which can be viewed here, provides information on the biology, lifecycle, identification and management of armyworms in pastures.
